Virtual PBX® Dynamic Call Routing

Dynamic call routing makes it easy for your employees to take their calls wherever they are. Most PBXs do not allow you to forward calls outside of your office, and if they do, they usually do not make it easy to reprogram your call forwarding settings if you are not in the office. This lack of flexibility makes communication with offsite workers or mobile workers difficult.

The Virtual PBX® makes it easy to change your call management settings. All you need to do is call into the system and tell it where you want calls to your extension to be sent to. You change this setting as often as you need to.

Let's take the example of a telecommuter who works from home in the early morning, and then drives into the office around 11am to avoid traffic jams. At 8am, your telecommuter calls into your company's 800 number, and tells the system to send calls to his home number. At 11am, he calls in again to tell the system to send calls to his cellular phone while he is driving to work. At 12am, he calls in again to tell the system to send calls to his desktop extension at the office. If he doesn't want to call in each time and re-route his calls based on his location, he just turns on follow-me calling, and lets the Virtual PBX® find him. All the while, customers can reach him at the same phone number and same extension as always. It sounds to outside callers like he is always in the office. Very few office phone systems give you this kind of flexibility, yet this is a basic feature of the Virtual PBX®

And, since the Virtual PBX® requires the extension owner to explicitly transfer the call to the extension (i.e., by pressing the "#" key after answering the phone), your callers will never be routed to your home answering machine or cell-phone voice-mail when you are not available. No matter where you route your calls, your callers messages are always stored on the Virtual PBX® allowing you to review, save, or delete your messages, or forward them to other extension owners from any location. The Virtual PBX® is always 'on call' to take a message for you if you are busy or not available to take a call.

Let's use another example of a salesperson who is on a trip to visit a customer site.

While away, the salesperson can tell the system to route calls to her cellular phone. Whenever she calls in to check messages, the system combines both voice and fax messages into a single mailbox. The voice messages can be retrieved from any phone, and the fax messages can be forwarded to any fax machine. This provides your mobile sales force with an unparalleled ability to communicate with customers while they are on the road. Combine the Virtual PBX® with a nationwide ISP account, and your employees have total connectivity to the office no matter where they travel.
